Revit 2017 Site Designer v2 Enhancements
Released: 09/09/2016
Description
Site Designer for Autodesk Revit enables architects, designers, and planners to shape the terrain for building sites using grading tools to model pads, parking lots, streets, sidewalks, and retaining walls. Site Designer uses Revit families, components, and toposurfaces, so designs become part of the overall building information model without the need to transfer between design systems.

Description
Roombook calculates the room-related surface areas of walls, floors and ceiling elements as well as room circumferences and furnishing elements for a complete material calculation of the interior finish. Areabook calculates living and net areas by rooms and room groups as well as net, gross and construction floor areas by projects for a comprehensive floor area calculation. Buildingbook calculates the material-related quantities of constructive building parts for a detailed quantification of materials under consideration of layers, parts and components.

How to Slope Horizontal Steel Beam (with images) Issue: You have an existing beam that has a level as its work plane. You want to set its work plane to be a sloped reference plane, but only the reference planes or levels parallel to the beam are available when you edit the beam. Solution: To make the existing steel beam align with a sloped reference plane. Open an elevation or section view of the beam. Draw a reference plane parallel to the beam/slab using the Reference Plane tool on the Basics tab of the Design bar and name it by editing the reference plane properties. Select the beam. Click Edit Work Plane on the Options bar. Select Name and select the reference plane that you just created from the drop-down menu and then click OK. Draw a sloped reference plane using the Reference Plane tool and name it. Use a project file standard template for your projects. This template can be an RVT file with worksets or an RTE file without worksets.
