Responding to user complaints, Autodesk sent all customers AutoCAD 2.52, which removed the lock. The program that became AutoCAD was created by Mike Riddle, and was originally called " Interact". Its name was changed to " microCAD," but when another company had already created a program with that same name, it was renamed " AutoCAD".
